ETHEREAL APPEARANCE OF MOTHER MARY

Original is sold, size 12” X 24” ( 30.5 X 61 cm ), 2001, oil on canvas

The edges of  the painting are coloured and made for chunky 1½" stretchers ( for larger size 12 ½” X 25” ) which provides a truer impression of the original work. Such an image gave us the freedom to play around with it even more, making each piece a unique work of art. For this reason, each image will be dated at the time of embellishing.

This image belongs to a series of paintings which were done after September 11 which was named ICONS OF NEW ERA. Here is a story about them:

ICONS OF NEW ERA

...is a series of paintings born right after the tragedy which happened in New York. This is our way of praying for peace... and we are still praying! We practice Reiki and Berislava (Grace) did not feel well for a few days before, so on the eleventh, as like every Tuesday we had a Reiki session. After the session our friends Anka and Ljubomir Bosanac did a special Reiki healing attunement for Berislava. Ljubomir felt that Mother Mary came directly to help this healing. Berislava also felt her healing energy. The next day Berislava started painting with unusual combinations of colours. Spontaneously I asked her if she would leave this painting for me to finish. On this one my auntie and uncle appeared (I simply know that). My auntie was almost like a mother to me. We felt that this was some kind of message and later we had more and more ideas about these paintings. Unusual combinations of colours which we rarely use in our palettes are: earthy colours, green, dark red which made a strong contrast with worm yellow, orange and a blast of white. But this is just the technical part of this cycle of paintings...more important are the invisible parts which we bonded forever on these canvases. Very often we had the appearance of Mother Mary, Jesus and many another souls who appeared just like sparkles of light or more human like figures.
On many of them appeared entities which would be universal messages for peace! Titles simply clicked after each piece was completed. Berislava painted light and spread magical combinations of colour which induce in me my creativity....we are in perfect peace when we are painting them...time is
stopped and we transfer inner peace on to the canvas. We are instruments or channels for divine forces to express messages of love. Because of that
these paintings have healing qualities! Standing in front of them you can feel the energy which is pouring out from portals painted on canvas. For some of them we have the feeling that they are like an altar where you can pray. It is very important to mention that we are not religious people and all religions on earth are man made. The message from these paintings is to search for the temple within, for God who is part of us not in a temple or church! We are all part of one whole and only love can connect and heal us. We are one with God, with the Universe! We named these majestic paintings Icons of new Era because we believe that this is a message from the future reminding us what is most important in our life, what causes growth and blossoming - love!
